Mantis makes it easy to create a bountiful garden, and a beautiful yard! Whether you’re breaking new ground for a first-time garden, or getting an existing garden ready for planting, the Mantis Tiller will make it easy and fun!
It’s Fall! Here are a few tips for getting ready for the Fall and Winter Season:
October:
Plant all your bulbs for the spring. |
Start your fall compost! Looking for something to do with all those fallen leaves? Try composting them! Gather your leaves, do a once over with your mower, and add to the Mantis ComposT-Twin. You can also let the leaves sit in your garden during the winter and till them into your soil in the spring with the Mantis Tiller, for a great fertilizer! |
Towards the end of the month, begin to clean and store your garden tools for the winter. There is no better way to store your Mantis Tiller and attachments for the winter months, than with the Tiller Storage Rack! |
November:
Adding mulch or compost to your plants will help keep them warm in the winter and protect them from the constant freezing and thawing during the winter months. |
Foliage can make great wreaths or centerpieces. Fallen leaves can also make for great arts and crafts projects! |
Enjoy your fall foliage! |
December:
Cut back any diseased or dying branches and shrubs. Just remember, these trimmings are not good to use in your compost! |
For the areas that get snow and/or heavy snow, knock snow mounds off tress and shrubs. |
Begin looking through catalogs and deciding on what you want to plant for the spring and summer. |
It’s not too early to think about Holiday gift giving. Let Mantis help you with your shopping! We’ve got lots of handy items for the yard and garden. And, if you don’t yet own a Mantis Tiller why not treat yourself to one right now! |
Most gardeners know that fall is the best time to plant trees and shrubs. But they still dig holes for these plants the old-fashioned, back-breaking way with a shovel.
To save yourself lots of work (and many potential aches and pains); dig holes with the Mantis Tiller. Put the tiller in the spot where you want to dig the hole and let its tines loosen the dirt. With a hand shovel remove the loosened dirt. Move the tiller back into place, run it long enough to loosen some more dirt, and then shovel out the dirt. Repeat this process until you've got the perfect sized planting hole. The tiller can then be used to loosen the dirt inside the planting hole to give the roots of your new tree or shrub a head start.
Bird Feeders! – Squirrel Buster, Classic or Pro
Keep your fine feathered friends well fed as they pass by on their journey south for the winter! The Squirrel Busters are guaranteed against Red and Grey squirrels, as well as some larger birds including Grackles, Starlings, and Doves.
The Seed Stays Fresh Patented Seed Ventilation System™ circulates air through the seeds, keeping them fresh and dry – a great features to have for areas which get a lot of snow!
